A Painted Postcard is moving

A Painted Postcard has migrated to my original Blogger address which is  (A Day In Paint)

Why have I moved? It's time consuming trying to keep up with all the different social media so, for now I want to try and simplify things and keep everything in the one place rather than on different blogs. I have deleted the old blog content from A Day In Paint so apart from what has been transferred it will be starting afresh with new work of all sizes rather than just the small paintings.

If you still wish to follow my blog or to receive an email when a posting is made you will need to click on the new link above and then either re-subscribe to the emails or connect as a friend again.

There will be one more reminder sent out in a couple of weeks after which A Painted Postcard will be  deleted.

Thank you all for your interest in the past and I hope you will continue to follow in the future.

Dingle Mart

One of the good things about moving house is you find things you may not have seen for a few years. I found some photographs (which gives a clue to their age) of Dingle Mart so painted this one yesterday.

September Sunset, Kilmoyley - study

Finally I have got back to some painting, it's been a while. With moving house and closing the gallery there has been so much to do. I still don't have a working studio but that will come soon so I am working in the kitchen. The skies here ...are just sensational and should feature a lot in my work over the coming year so my first Kilmoyley painting had to be a sunset. A small study 6" x 8"- oil on panel - September Sunset, Kilmoyley.

Road Home From Limerick City (Saying Goodbye)

A year ago I left Limerick City to return home after saying goodbye to my son ... he was leaving for London. I was glad it was only London and not to the other side of the world as so many have had to do to seek employment. Ireland invested a considerable amount of taxpayers money in educating my son, as they did all the young men and women who have now been forced to leave because of the gross ineptitude of our political elite. While they were (and still are) driving our brightest and best away, I drove home mostly teary-eyed as the sun was setting.

Oil on canvasboard 5" x 7".
This little painting is more colourful and sharper than the image, darker paintings are harder to capture well on my camera.
